1600cc VW Thing Oil Temperature Data

by Dale Mueller

VW Thing, stock 1600cc dual port engine recently rebuilt

I had two situations which contributed to the heat that should be mentioned:

  1. I had pulled out the airseal in the crank hole in the cooling tin as I was showing the car with the crank in place.
  2. My oil filter and some tubing are in the engine compartment and are contributing a lot of heat.
