[T2] ventilation grill ??

we have a opening covered by a grill inside by the spare wheel  
housing. It was there when we had a BN heater, I think for  
recirculation.

It is about 6x8.

Without the heater, is it still necessary to keep open. I'm wishfully  
thinking it would be quieter with it blocked.
