I ran a flaps fuel pressure regulator for years and years and more years ( since 1986 with weber progressive). The original fuel pump was still working fine with the original diaphram until last December when I went over to the dark side with FI. That fuel pump will be 50 years old in 2 weeks. Chris Scientists seek to understand what is, while engineers seek to create what never was. As the "Bad Astronomer" Phil Plait says, "Teach a man to reason, and he can think for a lifetime." On the other hand, my explanation might be totally wrong. :-(
