[T2] Dash bulbs

Hi, 

After ~40 years my bulbs in the dash final burned out in my 69 Westy. I replaced them with bulbs I found at the local parts store. However, I swear they are not nearly as bright. Anyone try convert them to LEDs? Any suggestion how make dash brighter so I can the the speedo and fuel gauge at night?
