>Interesting discussion. I have had kind of the opposite problem for years now, in that the gauge goes to full when I fill up, but drops to the bottom by the time I have about half a tank left. It went this way overnight - it was not a gradual change. Yes, it is wear on the sender. Because it spends more of its time in the bottom half of the range, that portion of the sender wears out quicker. As you will discover, identifying the problem is easier than fixing it!
