As I recall (and it's been a long time), you just remove the castellated nut, raise the wheels using all the necessary safety precautions, release the emergency brake, back off the adjusters as far as you can and pull the wheel off.  The wheel, rim, drum and hub all come off as one assembly.  The problem you can sometimes have is when the adjusters are frozen and you have to work them loose.
