A few d ago I saw a Bay front on a bus with the rear air-intakes of a Splittie - horiz flush slits mid-way up the rear flanks, not the scoops high up which I took to be std on a Bay. I had no chance to speak to the occupants as they drove by. The shape oddly reminded me of H.M. bark Endeavour , famous for Cook's exploration of my country (1769-70) - broad front, slimmer stern.
