The most popular replacements won't have a choke. Single barrel Webers and Dels seem to work well. Double barrel carbs can run into problems if you buy 40 or 38mm. 36 seems to work well, but on these big carbs you get so much power that you don't have to give much throttle to make the bus go, rendering distributor vacuum advance worthless, so many switch to an 009, thus missing cruise efficiency. Whatever you do, an AFR meter is necessary to dial in jets and check mixture across the rpm range, or you risk frying an engine.
