And Bob would know, and isn't some of the east side of DC past the capitol on 50 inside the beltway, a bit dicey from a safety standpoint? 3AM through DC in the fall is beautiful though, passing, Arlington, the monuments, etc. Might not be an unreasonable plan if you had a place to be going. I used to run down and see Dolan, or go to friends down on the eastern shore, and I loved driving through on 66 or 50 in the early AM hours, doesn't even have to be Sunday, or didn't used to have to be... Problem is where are you thinking about stopping if you pass through at 3AM.
