and Maryland too. 4 months to find, 4 minutes to fix!!!!@ for those that may have ignored or missed it. I have spent months trying to find an intermittent weak spark failure to start problem on my 78 bus. I have a crane optical points replacement high output ignition. but was getting weak or no spark, every thing was testing out no trouble found.. was doing a minute inspection of every part when I finally found it Saturday (finally some decent weather) a tiny little piece of plastic somehow got stuck in the optical sensor and was partially and intermittently keep.ing the trigger from seeing the laser light. cleaned it out and adjusted it minutely to prevent it from happening again. engine fired right up and have been driving it since Saturday with no problems (well no new problems) since. starts right up. my wife was beginning to suggest I sell it, and I actually was listening to her.... sheeesh.. now to get on to all the other "Stuff" the bus needs that got pushed to the back while I fought with it. if nothing else I got great gas mileage last couple months since it wouldn't run.. ;{ thanks to all who offered suggestions and at least I got a new double relay and coil out of it. is spring time to roll down the windows and enjoy the pleasant sound of an air cooled flat four. Bob
