Vehicle: '78 camper. Engine was refreshed 4,000 miles ago; rebuilt heads, new P&C. Engine was rebuilt by California firm, subsequently suffered water damage as a result of 2 years neglect after a minor engine fire. The case was 'split' by my mechanic, in front of me, and bearings were measure, and our opinion was that no other machining was necessary. Situation: Oil / filter was changed @ 2,000 miles, after break-in, with 30wt oil, as recommended and performed by mechanic in Holiday Florida. Now the '78 is sitting in Virginia, at 4,000 miles with the 30wt oil. I will take AMTRAK AutoTrain from Lorton VA to Sanford FL this Sunday, and drive around Florida (East coast) 10 Feb - 9 Mar, probably 2,000 miles. Question: Before my trip, I want to change the oil. What oil should I put in? (1) Castrol 10-40wt (2) Shell Rotella 30wt (3) Penzoil 10-30wt (4) Other? Thanks Barry Burneskis sends
