Greetings, I know that in the past I’ve changed the radio a few times and never had a problem fitting one in the 45mm high slot. The “past" being before Phrogbus was out of daily service for a quarter century. So now it’s the twenty-first century and all the rage are these DIN (DIN as in GERMAN Standards Institute) sized “mech-less” radios. I mean DIN, VW, they gotta fit, especially since they don’t need to accommodate the eight-track, right? They don’t. I just bought a neat, cheap little DIN radio from Wally World that even has a remote control in case I ever mange to get my wife into the back seat and I need help from Barry White. It's 50mm high while the opening is only 45mm. While there are now DIN sized radios under a hundred that will wirelessly interface with an iPhone and make coffee, there are very slim pickings in 45mm sets and they’re way over priced and very steal-worthy. The width of the opening and the size of the indentation in the dash padding are OK, it’s just the height that’s a problem. So does anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone expanded the opening with any success? Peace Phroggie and his Phrogbus (70 Sportsmobile conversion)
