AFAIK, North American Buses were standard with the Power Brake Booster (aka Servo) from 1971 onwards. A 9" diameter booster was used from 71 to early 74, then upgraded a 10" booster from late 74-79. Most European Buses/Trucks even though equipped with Disc Brakes were generally not equipped with a booster from 71 to Early 74 (optionally available though), then it was standardized with a booster afterwards. I'm sure this was the case in other parts of the world, such as "down under". 211 611 905 71 to Early 74 211 612 103 A Late 74 to 79 http://www.airheadparts.com/vintage-vw-parts/new-parts-current/power-brake-servo-211611905 http://www.airheadparts.com/vintage-vw-parts/new-parts-past/power-brake-servo-rebuilt-211611905-x http://www.airheadparts.com/vintage-vw-parts/new-parts-past/power-brake-servo-rebuilt-211612103-a-x And for the Vanagon folks: http://www.airheadparts.com/vintage-vw-parts/power-brake-servo/power-brake-servo-rebuilt-281612105-x In addition to the booster, A Brake Pressure Regulator was installed between the front and rear to help prevent rear wheel lock-up.
