Thanks for the link-I could not find that part. The thing I need is 211 953 513-k.

 

Now that I see it is available, I may try the solder option. I was worried about trying that, and boogering it up worse, and then not having any options. 

 

Anyone with experience with the OEM vs. Reproduction on this part?

If you're talking about the Horn Contact Ring on the steering wheel, Airhead/VWG has been making these for over a decade

The brass tab that contacts the ring on the Turn Signal Assy is riveted.  Might be repairable or you have to get a new switch.
