Tips on welding VW cases. I have found this site to be very useful. http://www.weldingtipsandtricks.com/welding-magnesium.html TIG welding arc is shielded by inert gases. i.e. no oxygen near arc. Do not try to extinguish with water (makes the fire worse) and remove all magnesium filings generated during the cleaning weld site prep before starting to weld.
