Pulled the 75 engine, got a trisquare "socket", yes, disc was oily (bad flywheel seal it seems). Picked up the kit (for late 74-75) and it's a LUK (not Sachs as specifed with a BD part number in marker showing 48258)- the right diameter, 215mm, but it was not flat on one side as my old one was- the shaft hole is "centered" in the disk with the 4 big springs plate sticking out both sides, more on one side. The old one had 6 smaller springs and was totally flush one one side and JUST fit into the flywheel (obviously for 215mm size). The replacement could not be placed against the flywheel. I called Bus Depot about the nonfit and they were very nice, said the right one would be sent with return shipping. Arrived in SAME physical conformation, but was a Sachs, now, number 1861845132 marked near center, 1849190125 on disc. The old one is marked (only center is visible) I think 1861544135. Googling shows the 135 should be an 035 for 75 bus. None of those come up as part numbers on BD site, not even the 48258. The LUK numbers google as for New Beetle and Golf? As I said before, we had switched the trans (later one?) and needed longer studs and bolts and a different starter. Pretty sure flywheel is stock. I have a spare disk for a 78 I think, but it is 227mm or so diameter. Help! MUTS Oboe/EH support = Michael's Ultimate Thumb Saver 78 VW Westfalia Camper 75 bus 93 Chevy Roadtrek 210P
