[T2] Engine intermittently turns off while coming to a stop

Any auto store should have something like this hand vacuum gauge/pump 
(metal piston tube is better):

Shows if your brake assist line holds pressure.
Make sure you glue down the acorn nut holding the piston end or they 
come off. Goods for checking your engine vac also.
