I had a 71 bus with that carb- recall that I cut off the idle solenoid plunger with a wire snip- the wire feeding it had a short/void somewhere. No problem when stopping- just turn it off, let clutch out in gear, never a runon. I tightened it up back to the carb, about 3/4 of a turn. I know it is supposed to stop run-on but maybe it thought the engine was off when I was pulling up to the stops with a warm engine, low rpm, and it just cut off fuel?
