Can it be removed without touching vent window??

It's either broken or dirty.  goes up about 5 inches, then hear the ratchet failing to grip. Comes down easily. 

Checking both Samba and Atwell which have great DIY instructions for the while door overgaul,  it seems I have to remove the vent window to either clean reg channel or replace if broken.

With dexterity, ie small hands , is it possible to remove the regulator without the vent, or main window removal.

Must get fixed asap for security
