	The most plausible inference to my mind is dud fuel.
	If it can be readily drained (might as well also take the 
opportunity to slap in a new fuel filter), do so, and then slap in at 
least half a tank of new fuel.
	If you can't drain, and if the tank happens to be less than, 
say, quarter-full, fill up with the fastest flow you can arrange of 
fresh fuel, so that the dud fuel which has been failing to burn 
properly will, with luck, be largely replaced by good stuff.
	If you can't score petrol in your context, you'll have to 
tolerate gasoline :-|
