If I keep on guessing... you might get confooooooosed! ..... why don't you 
look at your bus,, and tell us what the wire is for..

ok,, here is my guess... usually a RED wire is added .. not a factory 
colour...
Pertronix uses a red wire to the + ve of the coil

but you have a hacked wiring harness.. soooo it is difficult to answer
