[T2] Dashboard lights.

Hi all,
Is there any particular way of pulling the bulb holders out of the instrument cluster in a '71 bus? Bentley says there is no need to pull the whole cluster out, but simply reach under the dashboard and remove the bulb holder. 
That's easier said than done! Not too easy for a 66 year old man with bad knees!
