Message-ID: <A59A1A27-8966-42C4-A07E-AED9C858C0ED at verizon.net> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Hi all, Is there any particular way of pulling the bulb holders out of the instrument cluster in a '71 bus? Bentley says there is no need to pull the whole cluster out, but simply reach under the dashboard and remove the bulb holder. That's easier said than done! Not too easy for a 66 year old man with bad knees! Reach back under the cluster, grab the bulb holder and twist counter-clockwise, usually no more than 90 degrees. If that doesn't work try clock-wise because someone may have futzed with them. The holder should pop right out. It's not so bad pulling the housing out, it's a PITA getting it back in and stay in When I converted mine to LED, I switched the housing as well as the bulb after I boogered a couple housings trying to get them back in. I believe you have some non-standard equipment, such as Crane ignition, etc., right? Could you try to bypass all that and work with the most basic configuration, i.e., normal coil and points? And is the ECU getting its signal from the distributor/coil?
