You can't reverse the polarity [wires] to a multi speed motor... and the vw motor uses the chassis as ground.. so putting the pos on the ground would cause sparks, and no run condition,, but you can reverse the arm on the drive motor. I am going to bet the arm on the motor is flipped over... someone had it apart.. and reassembled it incorrectly.. ----- Original Message ----- > Did you try reversing the wires?
