Mike... xantrex seem to use the inverter... convertor words which might mean different things to different people ,, but the "box" does the job that JDD wants.. "When AC power is available, the inverter/charger recharges the house batteries. It also allows any surplus AC power to pass through and power downstream AC loads, such as a television set or microwave oven. When AC power is disconnected, the unit inverts DC battery power into AC electricity. " it is a combination of an inverter, battery charger and transfer switch into one complete system. discrete components can easily be wired in to create a battery isolator, smart charger, inverter,, and power outlets as seen fit by the owner as well... From: "MUTS" < >you want a converter/charger, which takes housepower to 12v -14.4v to run >12v stuff when at a campground with power and charges your batteries safely >and keeps them charged if boondocking and you go home. - > On 2/28/2016 2:55 PM, Jamie wrote: > these guys have what you want,, > http://www.xantrex.com/power-products/inverter-chargers/overview.aspx
