[T2] Hiccuping Engine

[T2] Hiccuping Engine

On my '65 I put one of those sillcocks that you can hook up to a reserve switch. I thought it would be usefull for when I pull the engine (which at the time, I happened to do frequently enough). Since I installed it I forget which way to turn the knob to cut the gas off completely, which is reserve, and which way is regular.

I recall something about them being backwards, as they were actually intended for beetles, but would work on a bus.

Now my bus has been sitting for a dumb amount of time, and I am planning on draining the gas -as it won't start for me, and I think the gas has just gone stale. Maybe I can figure out how that switch works. Does anyone know what I'm talking about, or which way to push the lever to turn off the gas, turn on the gas, and get to the reserve?

some few years ago I put electric shut off valves on the bottom of my tank, mainly fear of fire, if ignition is off fuel does not flow.

For those interested they are nitrous oxide racing valves not cheap but super reliable and weather resistant.
