[T2] 2nd gear problems

just a thought (I have an auto tranny now) years ago I had a similar 
problem. and after much scratching of head and other parts turned out 
somehowe I got the shifter plate flipped over and the shifter would not 
pick up the lever and shift into reverse.

just a thought and if my memory holds and it is older than my bus I seem 
to recall the tab being facing up??

others with manual trannys can correct me it has been a long time since I 
had a manual bus.
