OK, I figured out all the wires for the heater controls, and got it working somewhat appropriately. I added some serious foam insulation to the main tube that runs from the back. At this point it appears to be working, but airflow is weak at best. I think there is a blockage somewhere in the line - I think the back of the bus. I'll also double check that the heater box control are set to open the max amount - but that would only affect temp, right? -Kevin Guarnotta Jamaica Plain, MA â78 Westy '69 Singlecab '65 Ez-camper -----Original Message----- From: Bob Pratt [mailto:ka1dza at verizon.net] Subject: Re: [VB] [T2] Heater controls? BTW.. The barrel connectors are the same ones used on the carburetor to connect the excel cable. If you look inside the dash at where the cables attach to the controls, you'll see that there are actually four cables attached to the two control levers. Look at the fiche on Ratwell's site. >> >> On Nov 3, 2017 7:31 AM, "Kevin Guarnotta" <kevin at guarnottadesign.com<mailto:kevin at guarnottadesign.com>> wrote: >> Ok - more stuff on my '78 westy. For my '65 this is a metal tube, I insulated it with come closed cell foam type insulation. Currently the tube on my '78 has no insulation. I was thinking of putting some insulation on it - anyone else done this? Maybe I could replace the tube with a PVC pipe, then put the insulation around that, or just put the insulation around the accordion style duct work. >> 2. Where this flex tube attaches near the front of the bus, the duct work appears to sort of 'Y' off. There are two flaps covering these side ducts, that are spring loaded, and appear as though there should be something attached to the flaps, but I don't see anything there. Anyone know what I'm talking about? I can't find a diagram online to understand how this was supposed to work. >> 3. There is some minor surface rust on some of these pieces/metal duct work. I think I'll clean them up and do a little touch up paint. Hope the smell isn't too bad when I run the heat. >> >> -Kevin Guarnotta >> _______________________________________________ >> type2 mailing list >> type2 at type2.com >> https://www.type2.com/lists/type2/listin > > _______________________________________________ > vintagebus mailing list > vintagebus at type2.com > https://www.type2.com/lists/vintagebus/listinfo
