Received the emails below last night from Keith who found me via Air 
Cooled Rescue. He is in Santa Monica, CA.
I believe he has a misalignment between his crank pulley and the 
generator pulley.
Can someone else provide any insight?

Hi Chris,
I'm in LA and having an issue with my vee dub, and was wondering if you 
mighr be able to help me or at least refer me to a mechanic.
The issue involves my alternator,  voltage regulator and pulley... long 
story but I'd be happy to explain if you think this is something that 
you could help with.

It's a "69 bus, bay window. With a late super beetle alternator that is 
giving me trouble... it keeps chewing up belts, breaking pulleys, 
wearing the face of the alternator... now the voltage regulator has 
failed. Alternator is on a couple of months old.
