some years ago I put a set of fuel shut off relays made for race cars
right under my fuel tank. ignition off, they shut fuel off.

obviously with a FI bus like mine the fuel ring has a pretty fair amounnt
of presure so a fire ext is still critical, last small fire I had I douse
with a two liter bottle of diet mountain dew which was handy. at least it
wasn't sticky to cleam up, but fire ext was in other hand for backup.
apparently a backfire caught my air filter on fire!! always something new
with these old things.
