[T2] Heater controls? (-8

For years each winter we have used a piece of 14g house wiring to wrap 
around the flapper box control of each heater, pull to open it, then 
wrap the other end around the frame extension holding the cable about 8" 
to the front.  Good until spring. Just unwrap from the frame extension. 
Too much heat, open a window (-8
