The pin was pretty wasted, a tiny scrap of it was left. It had worn the lever out a little bit, and the pin itself had some grooves in it. I'll try to get a clevis pin for it while I wait for a replacement. -Kevin Guarnotta Jamaica Plain, MA â78 Westy '69 Singlecab '65 Ez-camper -----Original Message----- From: david raistrick [mailto:keen at icantclick.org] Subject: Re: [T2] Clutch cable pin? > Feeling ok - I knew I had a spare clutch cable. So this morning I go out to change the cable - and find the pin at the front - that connects the end of the cable - is just that a pin. It is not one of those Clutch cable clips. I did through all my parts boxes - and can't find a spare. Is there any reason not to just use a clevis pin here from the local hardware store? it's just a pin. some of them have a little back-leg clip, some of the have a circlip on the end, some of them have a small hitch pin clip in the end... but any pin will do the job. A bolt will do in a pinch (but will wear out faster), just just double nut or nylock since you dont want it tight. > Then I can drive my bus until the correct part arrives? yep. so the pin was broken or missing?
