Cool â thanks. Soâ¦make sure I got this correct - 1. Remove access panels (already done). 2. Then drain tank -somehow. I can figure that out. 3. Remove petcock on bottom of tank (I assume this is similar to that which is on an earlier bus? Iâve done the on my â65) 4. Then remove filling connectors, and disconnect straps. If bolts wonât budge â cut them, not straps. 5. Then gas gauge connectorsâ¦etc. 6. It will fit through access panels. Thanks! -Kevin Guarnotta Jamaica Plain, MA â78 Westy '69 Singlecab '65 Ez-camper From: Al Brase [mailto:alribee at gmail.com] Sent: Friday, January 19, 2018 2:11 PM To: Kevin Guarnotta <kevin at guarnottadesign.com> Cc: type 2 <type2 at type2.com> Subject: Re: [T2] Single cab Gas Tank removal Yes, you remove it from inside the treasure chest. Gotta get it drained and I think remove the fitting from the bottom of the tank.Remove the access panels. If straps won't come loose, it might be better to cut the bolts than to cut the straps. Then of course you have to unhook the inlet hose. I think there might be vent hose on top too.
