I wouldn't use anything like this in my car - especially near the engine. As for fire issues - try some out, spray a bit, let it cure, then try to light it on fire. I am in the building trade, and I have not tried this - but I've had a few of my sub-contractors and inspectors tell me that fire-blocking foam is not fire-resistant.
