People modify them all the time to go straight swing axle or IRS. Most anybody that could change one to IRS could likely put in a 003 or 010 automatic box from a bay bus.Most likely you'd want a 62 hp type 4 to give it that rocket bus feeling. Might want to get brakes for the same rocket bus.
