I read countless postings from Jim on Type2.com and Vanagon.com. He was a prince of a guy. In 2005, I went to Jerome Jamboree. Spent some time talking to Jim Thompson. Also, Jerry Jess, Rob Laffoon from Omaha (Who also happened to be my brother's mailman, if I remember correctly.) and then, my all time favorite grumpy VW expert, Karl Von Salzen. If there's a VW Bus heaven, these guys are in it!
