Was writ "Also the PO did something with the under dash wiring and it's a rats nest. Could anyone pmail me photos of what the wiring should look like?"

I think it is supposed to look more like a bird's nest.

Sorry - I'm working (albeit intermittently) on rewiring my '69 dash. It is not easy. It has got to the point of me almost tracing every single wire back, splicing properly etc. Unfortunately my year is an in-between year, and neither wiring diagram applies to mine.
