[T2] Sliding door cover removal

Hi Guys,
I'm trying to remove the faux slider mechanism cover from the driver side.
Bentley shows how to remove the panel on the actual sliding door side. This
is the slider mechanism cover. I have removed the 3 screws holding the
driver side panel but the panel does not want to come off. the bead is
still in place. Could the panel simply be stuck to the rubber beading? Or
is the panel maybe slid into a slot and is stuck in there? Anyone have a
photo?
Any thoughts?
I'm getting ready to have th bus painted.
