I found a picture of an SO-23 and it has a piece of metal(?) at the front window. Anyone familiar with this?

You are probably seeing two versions because these were originally available, and then apparently are being reproduced again?

One photo says "Regus" and "Made in Germany". Don't know if that is a reproduction stamp or where they are from.
