Yes, that is what one has to investigate with any engine.  Otherwise send us a $1,000.00 and we will both wear turbans today and break out the crystal balls....  

  Have taken an engine apart that look totally rust free only to find corrosion in the lower sump area, but it was well below the tappets bores in the case.  After cleaning out the corrosion the case sump area was still solid.

Have another really nice 25 HP engine that corroded right thru the bottom of the case....  Magnesium alloys do corrode easily with water added.
