I've bought new or rebuildt parts only to find them faulty, but that is excessive. Did you change the starter bushing? -----Original Message----- From: Hauck, William (DLI) (DLI) <william.hauck at state.mn.us> To: vintagebus <vintagebus at type2.com> Sent: Mon, Jul 29, 2013 5:02 am Subject: [VB] Starter problems I have a '59 SC with a 1600 motor. I have been eating up starters for some reason. In the last month I have eplaced the starter six times Granted, the starters are cheap ones from O'Reilly's, Auto Zone, Pep Boys, etc. I currently have an A/T starter that only lasted about a dozen starts before it urned out.. Something must be wrong. Not all of these could have been defective. William R. Hauck ediator/Arbitrator epartment of Labor and Industry 43 Lafayette Road North t.
