Well, I found the mplate, and it had so many layers of paint, it was impossible to read clearly. I took it off this morning, and put some paint stripper on it. Amazingly enough it only took the newer layers of paint off, not the original layer. Makes me want to dip my whole truck in this paint stripper! I can read the plate clearly now. I looked into certificates from Wolfsburg, they are saying a 6 month + backlog. According to the vw-mplate.com site, my bus was originally lotus white. Based on the paint stripping it was lotus white, then some color red, than its current white and blue. I like Lotus White in theory (ie on the computer) would love to see it in real life. Anyone around Boston have a Lotus White paint color? My '65 Kombi is Pearl White. I like the neutral colors / warm whites. Would you guys classify Lotus White as a warm or cool white? -Kevin Guarnotta Jamaica Plain, MA '78 Westy '69 Singlecab '65 Ez-camper
