About a month ago, I started getting a strong smell of gasoline in my garage when my bus was parked there. No puddles anywhere, so I pulled the carb and fuel pump, but the smell persisted, and seemed to come from the gas tank. I had a similar problem about ten years ago and tracked it down then to a pinhole leak in the gas tank. I had the tank sealed and that solved the problem. So this past week, I pulled the tank, but didn't see any leaks. I put some fluorescent dye in the tank with some gas, but didn't find any leaks. However, I still get the gas smell. Is it possible it's just fumes coming from the vented gas cap? I've been using one of the vented NAPA caps for several years. But I'm not sure why I didn't smell gas from the cap before. Any other things I should check? Maybe the fuel sender gasket? Come to think of it, I didn't slosh the gas around to see if any would leak there. Thanks for any suggestions.... - Rusty 67 Westy
