Just busted out my timing light - unless it is broken - my dwell is way off. It was reading 9. I'll try to adjust that tonight, if I can. As far as your suggestion David - when it stalls, it doesn't always completely die, sometimes it sort of puts along a bit, with no power, like it is just about to die. Pumping the gas pedal doesn't seem to do anything. After adjusting dwell - then I'll double check timing - I'll take it for a spin one last time - and pay attention to your question, and see if I can come up with an answer. Thanks for the guidance. -Kevin Guarnotta Jamaica Plain, MA â78 Westy '69 Singlecab '65 Ez-camper -----Original Message----- From: david raistrick [mailto:keen at icantclick.org] Sent: Tuesday, August 15, 2017 3:38 PM To: Kevin Guarnotta <kevin at guarnottadesign.com> Cc: vintagebus at type2.com Subject: Re: [VB] Good NEws > Whenever it stalls I go look and the fuel filters are full of fuel - this makes me think I don't have a fuel problem. Maybe my fuel pump has gone bad. What is a simple way to test this - do I need a fuel pressure gauge? after it stalls, with no other cranking, immediately go back and open the throttle a few times - do you hear/see the accel pump squirting? if not, then the bowl is dry and it's a delivery-to-the-carb problem. ... when it stalls - does it stall at steady throttle, or just under accel? does pumping the throttle (so using the accel pump to inject extra fuel) change it at all as it's stalling?
