Hi Kevin, Good to hear you got it running! Yes, got to check everything when trouble like this strikes. E&B -----Original Message----- From: vintagebus-request <vintagebus-request at type2.com> To: vintagebus <vintagebus at type2.com> Sent: Thu, Aug 17, 2017 7:52 am Subject: vintagebus Digest, Vol 41, Issue 1 Snip> My mechanic said the timing and carb were way off. He straightened those out - and I am good to go. I guess I figured if the timing was way off - it wouldn't start. I understand I may have messed up the carb setting when I took it apart to clean it up. The weird things I experienced - the bus not starting at all, but as soon as I changed the fuel filter, it started right up. This little thing really threw me. I did get to address a bunch of other outstanding things, and noticed some others that I'll need to address at some point, but I've got a working bus. And it is fun to drive it again. I also think the vintage bus list got some action for what seems like a long time ;) I guess you guys with the old buses just got them all running so well.... Thanks... Expect some other posts - as I start driving this, while figuring out what to do with my Westy, I may look into some upgrades for it. -Kevin Guarnotta Jamaica Plain, MA â78 Westy '69 Singlecab '65 Ez-camper
