I have a 1964 double door delivery bus outfitted as a camper. Ride has always been too stiff for my liking. Today I removed the rubber stops on the front end. It's much better now driving through the dips and gutters going across the streets in my neighborhood. I don't need to slow down to 10 mph anymore, I can go through at almost 20. I am going to cut back the lower side of the bumpers so that the trailing arms can more easily move in the up direction. Can anyone think of a reason not to do this? I suppose that the front will sway a bit more in a crosswind, but I do have an anti-sway bar on the front. Originally from the factory there was no sway bar in the front. Also, can anyone tell me if the delivery buses had stiffer torsion bars than the passenger buses? I've been driving this bus for 47 years now and I'm looking for a more comfortable experience.
