[T2] Rear Outer Bearing - '72 Weekender

Ok, so I am confused. 

I removed the rear outer bearing and had the race pressed out by a mechanic friend. 

The new one looks nothing like the old. Here is the new one on the left:

The diameters appear the same - both inside and outside:

The old race had a lip on it. The new one seems to be part of the bearing. Is this correct? Other pictures I've seen online of the '71-'79 rear outer bearing look like the new one. 

Any suggestions would be useful. Thanks.
