[T2] Headlight switch

Hi all,
According to the Bus Depot There is no difference between the 1971 headlight switch and any other year to 1979. The switch in my '71 had 7 connections with all of them the same size. The switches from 1978 - 1979 have 6 connection with one half the size.
Is there one wire that is not needed from one year to another?
