I have seen the release arms of the fork fail at the welds. IOW, the lever makes the shaft turn, but doesn't push the bearing very far. The arms WEAR UNEVENLY as well. A new shat would be a good idea. Or bend it back and reweld, but needs to be perfecly aligned! If your throwout bearing is pushed in cockeyed (good technical word, huh?) your cluch will chatter.
