VW put those stops there for a reason, I suspect bottoming out could 
damage the arms??
yes VW used different sway bars in the passenger versions. depending on 
weight you could swap them out.
one suggestion is to try and find a set of Koni adjustable shocks that 
were OEM option equip for the buses, (Bus Depot had them at one time) I 
have a set on my bus and they made the biggest difference in ride than 
anything else I had done.
